Bali is the one of the thousands of islands constituting the Indonesian Archipelago that has long been recognised as an eminent tourist destination in South Pacific or even world wide.
Its north coast faces the Bali sea, while the southern coast is lapped by the Indian Ocean. The island is just two kilometers off the eastern tip of Java. For all its cultural richness, Bali is a small island, less than 150 kilometers north to south.
The island covers an extent of 5,632,86 square kilometers, consist of mountain range stretches from the West till the Eastern with MT. Agung, considered as the holiest by the Balinese and the highest peak.
 
Located about 8 degrees south of the equator, Bali has such a mild tropical climate the whole year-round. The sun during dry season is between May and September is warm and pleasant, while in rainy season between October and April, tropical shower will alternate with clear sky and sunshine.
It is approximately one and half hour drive to the highland where temperature varies from 16 to 26C and it is known 22C during the night.
Bali has nearly three million people, many of whom still live in villages and small towns.
Bali's unique variant of Hinduism influences every aspect of island culture, from day to - day village life to art, dance and music.
The best period to visit Indonesia is during dry season (from April to October). In the wet season, rain mostly during the afternoon, however, in the morning is oftenly sunny.
Balinese is a complex language of several levels rooted in social class or caste distinctions. Indonesian is also spoken by all Balinese. It was developed from old Malay, to become the vast Indonesian archipelago's national of unifying language. English is increasingly spoken in the main tourist centers. Dutch is still known among older Balinese, while French, German and Japanese have a following among some in the tourist trade.
